The District Advisory Committee (DAC) is a volunteer committee whose responsibility it is to advise the Association Board of Directors (ABOD) on all substantive, common matters that affect Village Highland. While the DAC has no budget nor approval authority, it is the official voice of Highland residents to the ABOD. It can propose projects, communicate common issues and needs, and provide input to the budget process, among other matters.
In 2000, after all new homes had been sold and builders were no longer involved in The Villages governance, DAC's were established in each of the villages/districts to provide an opportunity for individual districts to provide a forum for and improve communication between residents and the Association Board of Directors (ABOD). As management procedures have evolved in recent years, input from the DAC is having an impact during the annual Association budget preparation process and in planning major projects in various districts, such as landscape restoration.
